Magical Image Theatre performs in Budapest again in February
The mysterious world of darkness
The audience has another chance to see Magical Image Theatre’s production Best of Image three more times on February 9th, 10th and 11th 2006 in the Thália Theatre. The Prague company is invited by Armel Production and Thália Theatre, the new organizers of their guest performance. Those members of the audience, who have not returned their tickets of the announced and cancelled performances of the summer, can exchange their summer tickets for any of the performances in February.
Eva Asterova and Alexander Cihar founded the Image Theatre in 1989. Intertwining spectacle and lighting, dance, contemporary jazz and other music styles as well as pantomime the artists of the company created a new genre. In this theatre, the world of fantasy appears on the stage, where light and darkness play the lead roles. From the depth of mysterious darkness the artists conjure wonderful visions in front of us. The dancers, dressed in costumes of colorful lights, mesmerize the audience by never-before-seen movements and spectacle. In addition to the application of traditional devices, video projection is also part of this unique performance, and the company also developed numerous special effects, which provide a unique visual experience.
They performed their first production in 1990, and its enormous success brought numerous international invitations to the company. They already produced their next performance in their own venue and the production Fancy! was performed more than one thousand times. The company has an extraordinary structure, in which the permanent group of creative employees forms the core of the audience. Every new production is inspired by the idea that the audience should leave with a mesmerizing, joyful experience at the end of the performance.
